71st Annual Ice Cream Social
The Ice Cream Social will continue under the direction of the fire department. This event offers something for all ages! Demonstrations take place front and center all day long as our firefighters demonstrate their skills! Families get to experience the jaws of life, truck demonstrations, technical rope rescues, fire extinguisher demonstrations and much more. While you watch, enjoy some fresh fire house favorites like our famous BBQ chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, coleslaw, baked beans and of course ice cream. In addition, we have events for the kids; real fire hoses with water to spray, foam fun, antique fire apparatus and of course paint the fire truck and much more!
The Event
2019 marked the 71st Annual Ice Cream Social and final event hosted by the Washington Township Firefighters Association. During this years event, the Washington Township Fire Department demonstrated it's service capabilities including: automobile crash extrications, fire extinguisher demonstrations, rope rescues, ladder climbs, and visits from CareFlight and MedFlight Helicopters. We had games for children, antique fire truck displays, and plenty of great fire house cooked food including BBQ chicken, fresh sweet corn on the cob, hamburgers, hot dogs, pies, and of course, ice cream. This family event was well attended and our thanks go out to our community for so many years of support.
